SHIRO

The word rhinoceros means nose horn. SHIRO does not have one.

An animal named after a weapon, built without it. He was turned away for what was missing, so he trained instead, and the white gi and black belt are the result rather than a costume. Nothing about him is threatening on purpose.

Sixty centimetres, which is small enough to live on a desk and be looked at every day rather than admired from across a room. Fiberglass, because the form needed volume without the weight, and because ten of them had to exist.

He is the first rhino. He will not be the last.

Ten will be made. When the tenth is claimed the page turns black.
